My Biggest Worry...is a fishing hook in my eyelid.

I have heard so many different fishing quotes and fishing stories through the years. Some hilarious, some poignant, some hair raising and some questionable. My father-in-law was a die-hard fishing addict fisherman.

Now we did get to partake in the fruits of his obsession hobby; enjoying many a fish fry. Fresh caught grilled trout and onion rings still make my mouth water just thinking about them.

I remember one time he went fishing by himself, no buddies available that trip. Somehow he managed to hook himself in the eyelid. He had to load his boat and then drive the 30 miles back to town and take himself to the emergency room. The whole while being extremely careful to not blink his eye. When I asked him how he managed this, he simply said, “what other choice did I have”. His favorite fishing quote was; a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.

I came across this quote and know he would have appreciated it very much. I’m sure he is chuckling in Heaven and probably catching the best trout ever.

My Biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it. - Koos Brandt

This card was designed with my father-in-law in mind. He was my defender in a family that I needed to be defended in. He was a rock and my friend.
